Win autographed copies of The Lab and Remote Control!
The prize: A copy of The Lab and Remote Control sent to your doorstep, each signed by Jack with a message of your choosing - makes a fantastic gift. Your story will also be published on myspace.com/jackheath and jackheath.com.au under your name or pseudonym. A great way to get your work noticed. How to enter: Write a short story (up to 1000 words) featuring at least one character from The Lab or Remote Control. Post it on your website, your blog, or on fanfiction.net. Email the title, your name or pseudonym, and the URL of the story to fanfictioncompetition at jackheath dot com dot au. That's it! Entries close on Thursday the 24th of July, and the four winners are announced when Money Run is released on August 1st. Two winners will be chosen by judges (including Jack) and the other two will be chosen by popular online vote. So get writing - once you've read the rules. Rule 1: Your story must display this message below the title: Entry in jackheath.com.au fanfiction competition. Rule 2: Stories must be 1000 words or less. Remember, it's short fiction - you don't have to tie up every loose end, and most of the characters are already developed for you. However, your story must be at least 6 words long, excluding the heading. Examples:
Five words - this is not a story.
Six words - this is a story. (And you never know, it might win. It's short. Punchy. Ha ha.) Rule 3: No swearing or sex, please. This is an all-ages competition (and those things sometimes traumatise old people.) Rule 4: Enter as many stories as you want, but please only enter each story once. (Duh.) However, feel free to publish that story in as many places on the web as you like. Rule 5: You can only vote once. (Duh.) Online voting will start on Friday the 25th of July, and will last for one week, until the release of Money Run on August 1st. Links to all stories will be posted on jackheath.com.au so as fans can read them all before voting. You are welcome to ask your friends to vote for you. Rule 6: Don't plagiarise (unless it's from Jack). Your story could be disqualified. Rule 7: You are welcome to join forces with other writers. Only one prize pack will be awarded per winning entry, but remember there are two books per pack! Rule 8: Requested personalised messages in prize packs must be approved by Jack, with regards appropriate content. 30 words maximum. Note: You will need to become a member of fanfiction.net to post your story there. Membership is free. Stories should be posted in "Miscellaneous Books." |
